First off, Pigpen's last moment onstage with the band he helped found was 38 years ago today. He doesn't sing, the band's overall performance is laregly uninspired, and the one copy here is rough going- but shit, a milestone is a milestone, and it shouldn't go unremarked on today.

Second, on a more upbeat note, the all new, refitted, post-hiatus model Grateful Dead played their first full show (Kezar being more of a sneak peak) 35 years ago today. This seems to me to be the least discussed of the four 1975 gigs, but it's a respectable, if tentative, effort. Probably the best moment comes at the begining; although this was the first "Crazyfingers" I would still rank it among the best.

Good God, has there always been a soundboard of the 6/17/75 show?! How did I miss this?!?!?! The matrix sounds great!

Yeah, I've had the Bertrando aud for a long while; not sure how I missed this myself.
